Left Atrial Myxoma – A Rare Case Report with Review of Literature

Tumors of the heart are very rare. A rare case of Left Atrial Myxoma of the heart is presented with the review of literature.

Most of the primary cardiac tumors are benign and include Myxoma, Fibroma, Lipoma, Papillary Fibro- clastoma, Rhabdomyoma and Angiosarcoma. Only Angiosarcoma is malignant. Myxomas are the most common primary tumors of the adult heart. 90% are located in the atria. Myxomas and “Myxomata” are seen in adults.
