According to Chakra, there are three types of Prameha :
1. Sadhya – curable. Describes patients who have been diagnosed very early in the onset of Prameha .
2. Yapya – Palliable . Patients under this category have Pittaja Prameha & certain types of kaphaja Prameha. However , Yapya {palliable} is controlled with treatment.
3. Asadhya – Incurable. Describes the incurable version of Prameha & inherited diabetes. Sahaja patients suffering from this variety are lean.

Simulation has been defined as a situation in which a particular set of conditions is created artificially in order to study or experience something that is possible in real life; Aviation and aerospace industries have been using simulation as a teaching tool for many years. There are many examples of curricular reform that include clinical skills training, the use of simulators, and the creation of clinical skills centers. Recently, the inclusion of clinical skills training into the curricula of medical students has seen significant growth. On the other hand, simulation based medical education can be defined as any educational activity that utilizes simulative aides to replicate clinical scenarios. Simulation tools serve as an alternative to the real patient.

The following list outlines procedures for achieving an accurate diagnosis of caries and fissures (modified from Wilson and McLean).
1. Use magnifying loupes or intra oral camera magnification.
2. Use excellent lighting (operatory head lamp or fiber optic).
3. Clean and dry the teeth (ideally with an air abrasion cleaning device or a water abrasion device such as Prophy Jet [Dentsply/Caulk, Milford, Delaware, USA] or Prophy Flex [KaVo, Biberach, Germany]).
4. Use caries indicators and caries detection devices.

In the small territory of limited resources as was in Goa during 1940-1961, Dr. Emidio Afonso , overcoming all obstacles, almost without any apparatus or laboratory facilities, invented and created his own instruments. From 1943 to 1970, by constant theorising and experimentation, he opened up new horizons in research and clinical, chemical and bacteriological analyses in Goa. The results were all published in international journals of repute. He built his own electrocardiograph in 1940. Later in his life it was the study of serum proteins that became his obsession. This took him to the end of his career where he researched within the domain of immunochemistry in the study of cancer proteins.
